Adrienne Clarkson (the former governor general) has written a new book about it, ‘Room for All of Us’.
The former governor general is now 72 and arrived in Canada from Hong Kong when she was 3. She writes about the many immigrants she met over the years , including Naheed Nenshi, Calgary’s Ismaili-Canadian mayor, and David Albahari, a Serbian-Canadian writer. She also writes about the young and educated draft dodgers that have made great contributions to our country.
Chinese- Canadians have made enormous contributions
In a recent interview, Jason Kenny, Canada’s Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, spoke about how immigrants from China have made enormous contributions to Canada. They risked their lives in the 1860’s to build the Canadian Pacific railway.
“And today, Chinese immigrants do well in many fields in Canada,” said the minister.
“But particularly, I think one of the gifts that Chinese immigrants bring to Canada is the great work ethic, good business sense, they are willing to take risks, they are willing to save up, they are willing to invest, they are willing to hire people and start small businesses.”
“Most of our economic growth now is because of small- and medium-sized businesses. And in my view, that’s where many Chinese immigrants excel, because they are very good business people and work very hard.”
Such enormous contributions and that’s why he is happy China is our No.1 source country for the permanent residents as immigrants to Canada.
The majority of permanent resident immigrants go through the process of obtaining their Canadian Citizenship.

Until recently checking my citizenship status online I could see that my case was in process. But now it cannot find my records!!!

With the increase of birth-tourism especially from China to CANADA, there’s only one way to stop that. And this is 100% effective and will weedout the super bad guys. First of all any female visitor or tourist visiting Canada should be mandated by the Canaian High Commission in their native countries for a medical test, and in that it should test for pregnancy, and if the result is negative, visa must be refused. This is so simple.
